It never ends
Passion never die. It grows
Stay Hungry and Strong
Before being known to the masses by his stage name, Spechinal, Horace Mitchell grew up in Four Paths, a district in May Pen, Clarendon. From the moment he was introduced to the world, Mitchell has had a natural feel for music; keenly listening to the radio & gaining interesting in music from his time in basic school. That musical desire showed in class
devotions; always wanting to be the first one called up to sing before serving on church
choirs.
While attending Denbigh High School in Clarendon, his appreciation for the arts grew;
performing as a member of the school’s choir where he showed vocal abilities at local
festivals. Additionally, he participated in Denbigh High’s Drama club where he showed his
acting skills & versatility as a potential future entertainer & helped the school win the
trophy in a nationwide competition.
Sources of inspiration such as pop icon, Michael Jackson and Dancehall legend, Moses
“Beenie Man” Davis helped Mitchell focus on perfecting the lyrical and, in particular the
performing aspects of music so he could connect with future fans while delivering
messages in his songs to them; understanding who he is and what he represents as an
artist.
His independence and willingness to be different from the crowd gave him further
motivation to create material that has meaning and importance in daily life. Additionally,
his lyrical ingenuity and versatility reflects his personal vow to change the framework of
the Jamaican music industry and one day spread his positive messages to the world;
messages that would resonate for generations to come.
Said versatility is evident through notable love songs such as Cuss Me and Natural Girl, to
more motivational efforts such as Bricks, laying a steady foundation to build on for himself
and the growing list of fans he takes with him on his musical journey.
Bricks is the first single off Spechinal’s aptly-titled debut EP, Life is So Real. After a break
from the industry, the emerging star is rejuvenated and, in Life is So Real, chronicles his
personal and professional triumphs, as well as trials along the way. His newly-released
second single off the compilation, Pretty White Dress, is a romantic song paying an ode to a
woman’s beauty and elegance.
With the release of Life Is So Real fast approaching, Spechinal is seizing his moment. A
young man with an old-school aura to his music and persona, Spechinal itches for big stage
success and will continue to scratch and claw to the top as long he can hold a microphone.
